The FlightStream shipped with version two.33 of the firmware, from 2017, three years behind the current version. You cant update the software without a dealer. Garmin needs to prepare this.

I had a Flightstream 510 which failed. It was not warranted nor repairable by Garmin. It worked beautifully at first, but failed with no known cause. Hearsay suggests failure is common, which of course I cannot verify.
